Visiting the numerous ruins around the globe offers all of us a first-hand window into the lives, cultures, civilizations and just how ordinary people may have lived, how harsh, properous, or even how simple their lives may have been. While their existence either slowly waned, or as in the Pompeii case, ended suddenly, the ruins we get to enjoy today just continue to reveal the humble beginnings of our world.
