Similar to National Parks, the goal of the National Wildlife Refuge system is to manage the conservation of plants, animals and its associated habitats. Established in 1903 (Theodore Roosevelt) and comprised of public lands and waters, the refuge system encompasses well over 500 existing properties throughout the country and offers a great opportunity to view wildlife.
